Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have questions about Simple?
Discover our list of FAQs below.
Simple® is aligned with Unilever's corporate position on animal testing: we do not test our products on animals and are committed to ending animal testing. Our leading-edge research has one clear purpose: to continue to develop new non-animal approaches that can guarantee that our products are safe, without any need for animal testing.
Occasionally, when there are no suitable non-animal approaches available, some of the ingredients we use have to be tested; and some governments test our products on animals as part of their regulatory requirements. We are actively working with these governments, other scientists and NGOs, to put in place alternative methods.
The majority of Simple® products do not contain any animal derived ingredients. In our skincare products, the only one containing animal derived ingredients is the Kind to Skin Vital Vitamin Night Cream. For further information please contact our team.

Just like your skin, our planet has a delicate ecosystem that needs looking after, and we're committed to being kinder to both. You'll notice that we've done away with unnecessary leaflets, made many of our packs recyclable, and have started using recycled and biodegradable materials in our products and packaging. We're not stopping there, though. There's still a lot more to be done, and we're determined to be as green as possible, so watch this space for more eco-friendly updates!
All of our skincare products are soap free.
Your skin's sebaceous glands produce sebum, a natural oil that helps to keep skin soft, supple and healthy. Emotional or external triggers-stress, stimulants, hormones, oil-stripping products and even the weather-can send your glands into overdrive. These glands are more concentrated on your forehead, nose and chin. A shiny T-zone with dry cheeks is not unusual.
Try our Simple® Clear Skin range which contains Zinc PCA to help absorb excess oil.
If you have sensitive skin, there are some common ingredients used in skincare products which you should avoid. Check out the list of harsh ingredients.
It depends. Age, the environment, your lifestyle and diet, your hormonal activity as well as the clothes and jewelry you wear can all be triggers for sensitive skin occasions. All skin can be sensitive at times, due to external causes like pollution or cold weather. Learn more about the triggers of sensitive skin.
